Stakeholders in the Learning City
Who are the stakeholders in a Learning City? The sectors, organisations and people which together will help to build the Learning Community into a reality? Perhaps this diagram encapsulates this
But of course this diagram doesn’t tell the whole story. A Learning City mobilises ALL its institutions, its companies, its public and private organisations and its people in the construction of a genuinely interactive, interdependent and actively contributing community. Each sector has its own roles and responsibilities and each plays its part in developing the community’s social, cultural, political, environmental, economic and human capital. But the real essence of a Learning City is that this is done through multiple partnerships in which resources, both human and material, are freely shared between them for the mutual benefit of all.
‘Learning Cities, Learning Regions, Learning Communities’ tells the story of stakeholders, city charters, festivals and tools to activate lifelong learning, and points you to Active Learning Materials that will enhance your understanding of what you and your colleagues can do to help build your city into a place where lifelong learning thrives.
