Norman Longworth was born in Bolton, UK in 1936 and is now retired. He has been a schoolteacher, a manager in a multinational company, a professor in several universities , a freelance developer, a consultant to the European Commission, OECD ,and UNESCO and an author of books and poems, both academic and secular. His major discipline is in Lifelong Learning and especially the development of learning cities and regions, about which he has an international reputation, having lectured in more than 30 countries world-wide.
